My fire sale morphed into a red-hot Christmas sale
On Wednesday, I sent out a message with the subject line: 'Almost Fire Sale'. It was a report on the fact that we had no damage from the recent Thousand Oaks fires although we did have to evacuate my home and the Reality Zone warehouse, because the fires had come uncomfortably close. The second part of the message was an announcement of a deep-discount sale that had been planned prior to the fires because we are in the process of moving our inventory from California to a fulfillment center in the Chicago area and, frankly, I would rather sell these items at ridiculously low prices than ship them to Illinois. I was so wrapped up in the drama of the fires that it didn't occur to me that this sale might be seen by customers as more than just an opportunity to expand their reality libraries at incredibly low prices. However, last night as I was looking at one of the sales invoices from a customer who purchased twelve items, it occurred to me that he probably was loading up on Christmas gifts for friends and family. Of course! Why didn't I think of that? How stupid not to point out to everyone that, at these prices, Christmas gifts will never be more affordable. So, I'll do it now. Christmas gifts will never be more affordable.
