The UNHCR is calling out for more money to keep the refugees from flooding Europe. The unspoken message is clear: "Pay up or be sorry." [Crime syndicates use extortion threats like this to sustain their cash flow. It's called the Protection Racket. "This sure is a nice bar you have. It would be a pity if some hoodlums came in here and messed it up or set fire to it. We can protect you from that - and it will only cost you $500 per week." The Protection Racket is well known at the UN syndicate.] [...] |

Bulgaria acquired 213,519 Bitcoin after an organized crime ring was busted for placing a virus into computers at the Customs office that allowed members of the ring to avoid import taxes on their cargo. The group converted its gains to Bitcoin, which now is valued at $3.6 billion. [It is not clear from this article how the government was able to confiscate the Bitcoin inasmuch as cryptocurrencies are supposed to be secure against theft or government seizure. If anyone can tell us how this was accomplished, we will share it with our readers.] [...] |

The day before the election, a Montgomery County Circuit Court issued an order directing Alabama election officials to preserve all digital ballot images created at polling places. Less than three hours later, the state Supreme Court granted a stay on the order, thus allowing the destruction of the records. Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill and Ed Packard, the state Administrator of Elections, were behind the request to trash the records. The Department of Homeland Security supported the quick destruction of voting records. This stinks to high heaven. [...] |

A ban on the possession on bullets purchased out-of-state takes effect January 1, 2018. In 2019, everyone who buys ammunition in California will be required to undergo a background check like those currently required for firearm sales. [The plan is clear. Rather than direct confiscation of firearms, which is unconstitutional, would-be tyrants are gradually increasing rules, regulations, fees, and restrictions so that, eventually, firearms will be confiscated by assessments and red tape.] [...] |

Dan Johnson, who was under investigation for alleged sexual molestation, had said the allegations were fake news, and may have committed suicide as a result. He was found dead on a bridge with the fatal weapon on his person. Johnson had been accused of molesting a 17-year-old girl at Heart of Fire Church in 2013, where he was the pastor. He was never charged over the accusations, but was said to be under investigation. [...] |

The Federal Communications Commission voted to eliminate net neutrality rules. Chairman Pai believes that content providers should not be allowed to censor users and should follow the same rules applied to Internet Service Providers, such as Verizon and AT&T. Because of this position, Chairman Pai has become the target of numerous death threats. There were also protests at his house, and his children were identified on posters advising them their father is evil and that he murdered democracy. [...] |

The same governments we are asking to create a ban on killer robots will secretly develop them in spite of any ban. The military seldom worries about mere laws. All they have to do is claim that their efforts are for national security or world peace, and the people will acquiesce. That's how we got the present killer-drone program. Since laws will never stop tyrants from developing more efficient weapons, our only hope is to create a political system that prevents tyrants from coming to power. [...] |

Bulgaria: Banks cracked down on Bitcoin exchanges last week by closing down the exchanges' commercial-bank accounts and blocking them from obtaining national currencies. The exchanges pointed to bankers, not the government, as the source of the problem, although it is likely that the government would have prevented the banks from doing that to any other class of customers. According to independent news sources, the exchanges began restoring operations several days later. [...] |
