Future historians may well describe our present era as the Age of Propaganda. Never before have the forces of government and communications been so completely
unified into a single machine, and never before has the truth been so twisted and filtered on its way to public perception. This is a byproduct of the fact that most people still believe that democracy is a magic force that allows the common man to select his leaders and, thereby, determine his own political destiny.
